These three days were tough. I was without a car, so I walked 24h all day long, I was so excited, I wanted to see as much as possible. So on my way back from St-Maurice I stopped in Montreux and Vevey. The compact size of European countries helps a lot when you don't have much time. The long summer day helps as well.
Montreux...Expensive, luxuriously, expensive, glamorous and did I mention expensive?
1.
Chic
2.
Rich,expensive
3.
and very beautiful. Montreux is associated with a number of notable residents. For example, Luc Plamondon
4.
Russian-American novelist Nabokovused to play tennis
5.
among other notable persons are Russian composers Tchaikovsky and Stravinsky
6.
and, of cause, Freddi Mercury. His statue is erected beside the lake.
7.
This is one of the most beautiful walks along the lake Geneva (Leman en français) all the way towards Vevey.
8.
9.
These ones reminded me of Vancouver Olympic games
10.

This photo is the winner of the annual National Geographic contest on the best 'butterfly on a flower' photo:

Here they love to make statues by putting objects one on another. Smart time and money saving idea-))
13.

Several years ago I tried an ice cream Movenpick in Geneva. At that time, it seemed to me the most delicious ice cream ever.
On this bench I repeated the experiment and I can definitely confess - yes, yes and yes - Movenpick is the most delicious ice cream ever!
15.
For those of you, guys, who saw the Araucaria in Alupka. I couldn't imagine that I would see another one in Montreux-)))
16.
17.
18.
19.
The Lake. the other side is France:
20.
What is this? A flame? Legs of girls from synchronized swimming team?? Any other ideas?
21.
22.
Montreux climbs up the hill
23.
24.
Bye-bye, Montreux, I'm going to Vevey
26.
The first thing I saw in Vevey was this cute swine. Vevey was the third town of the day, I was so tired that didn't dare to go far from the train station...I was afraid I would fall exhausted under a treeand nobody will see me again. However, adrenalin helped me to reach the lakefront and take some pictures doing minimum movements
27.
My legs were so jealous seeing this girl lying on the grass.
28.
But the awesome view cheered me up:
29.
ehhhh Nestle was founded here and the headquarters are still in Vevey
30.
a boat

35.
36.
On my way back to the station I saw this man, but my camera was in my bag, it took some time to take photo of his T-shirt. I'm not sure if you can see, it's written: 'Les gosses du Quebec' Our man in Vevey-)))
37.
The day is almost over. I'm ready to return to Geneva.
38.
The Alps and two airplanes going in opposite directions...
